Synopsis Heroin’s Grip is a documentary film that tells the story about the heroin and opioid epidemic from the viewpoint of those on the front lines of this national crisis. The film features four families whose lives have been impacted and forever changed by addiction, and includes stories from those currently using, people in recovery, as well as perspectives from law enforcement, health care workers, judges, prosecutors, and others who deal with people in this crisis every day. Ultimately, the film gives hope for the user and for the families who’ve been impacted. Director's Statement: CONRAD WEAVER, PRODUCER/DIRECTOR "The heroin and opioid epidemic has devastated hundreds of families, individuals, and businesses all across our county. We see it in the news nearly every day and it’s easy to think that it’s someone else’s problem. We think that it’s a Frederick or Baltimore issue. It’s not! It’s in our neighborhoods. My neighborhood. My small town. It’s our community’s problem, and we must work together to solve it. I couldn’t simply stand by and watch, I had to get involved.” |
